The Department of Musical Theatre is designed for the serious, young performer with equal emphasis in voice, drama, and dance. Students are immersed in the skills necessary for a successful career in both stage production and work in film and television. Dramatic and vocal instruction focuses on a strong foundation and technique utilizing both classical and contemporary literature. In addition, students will participate in career coursework including Audition Skills, Cold Reading Workshops, The Business of the Business, and Repertoire, with guidance by professional actors, vocal coaches, directors, casting directors, agents and managers.

Musical Theatre students have the opportunity to perform in several main stage musical and dramatic productions each year, and to participate in Southern California's most prestigious song and dance troupe,
