2008-09 Season Registration Information - updated 2/2/2009*
Hours of Instruction
The California Conservatory of the Arts instructional program is in session Monday through Friday afternoons, from 3:30 to 6:30 pm for Musical Theatre, Film and Television* (in 2009, Film is a 10 Week In-line Intensive on Saturdays, 10am - 2pm), Theatre, and Visual Arts. Dance is currently in reserve for the 2008/09 season as we await facility expansion. Preparatory Academy classes are from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, for each Department. Rehearsals for main stage productions, special performance opportunities and performing groups are extra-curricular and take place in the evenings, after classes, and on weekends. Students take their regular academic classes at their own school of choice in their home district or alternative program, and travel to the CCA campuses for all Conservatory instruction and rehearsals.
Tuition
There is an annual tuition of $2500.00 for all students selected to participate in the three day Conservatory program. The CCA Academic Season consists of two semesters; Fall semester is September to January; Spring semester is February to June. Tuition includes all CCA instruction and the opportunity to participate in professionally produced performances and exhibitions at venues throughout the Southland. Financial Aid and Scholarships are available for exceptionally talented young people who demonstrate financial hardship. The CCA is not a studio - Conservatory curriculum is in-line and requires consistent attendance. Each Season, a non-refundable Enrollment Fee of $250 is due at the time of Registration.
CCA PREP ACADEMY
The Preparatory Academy is a program for students, grades six through eight, selected by audition from throughout Orange County. Beginning and Intermediate level classes are offered in all art areas (except Theatre). Film and Television and Visual Art students are supported by their peers in their respective departments. Musical Theatre students have the same Conservatory instructors as their peers, with differing instructional hours.
U.C. Requirements
All California Conservatory of the Arts coursework meets the U.C.
